The POLR Purpose:
To connect hurting and/or struggling people—those experiencing addiction, anxiety, depression, effects of abuse, grief, and so much more—to Jesus and to a loving, accepting, and supportive community for healing, freedom, and life restoration.
Thursdays at House of Prayer—Larose— 6:30 PM
Who It’s For:
Anyone 21 and older ready to change their life for the better. Whether you’re just starting your recovery journey or continuing it, there’s a place for you at POLR.
Our Approach:
POLR is a Christ-centered, Bible-based 12-Step recovery approach. Each step leads to genuine repentance and transformation through the power of the gospel (Romans 1:16; 2:4). We emphasize community, accountability, and unconditional love, believing real recovery happens through Christ-centered relationships.
Church-Connected Recovery:
We operate under the spiritual covering of House of Prayer—Larose and our Pastor, Daniel LeCompte Jr. We encourage our members to engage with the full life of the church through opportunities like Next Step, Community Groups (POLR included), prayer meetings, and Sunday church services.
Experience It for Yourself:
POLR’s not about you just attending a meeting—it’s an invitation to join a family. Come as you are and experience the life change God intends for you. And learn the eternal truth that King Solomon wrote: “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better…” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
Let us answer your questions…
-
Thursday nights at 6:00 PM
-
No. We welcome anyone with any life issues, be that addiction or distress, to join us and find healing and hope through shared recovery and the name of Jesus.
-
We use the 12 Steps of Path of Life Recovery, adapted from the 12 Steps of AA, biblically focused.
-
We have 9 POLR meeting guidelines:
Silence or turn off phones in the meeting. Respect the room - remove distractions
Keep the conversation Christ-centered.
What’s said here, stays here.
Speak for yourself. Share your own story, not someone else’s. Keep in on your recovery, your choices, your responsibility. (No blaming, deflecting or preaching.)
No cross-talk or fixing. We don’t interrupt, give advice in the middle of someone’s share, or correct them. Listen with respect.
Be respectful and honest.
Honor the group with your time. Be on time whenever possible.
No offensive language. Foul or crude talk has no place at POLR. We honor God and each other with our words.
Celebrate progress. We applaud steps forward, no matter how small.
-
The floor is opened after the daily reflection is read, for any and all who wish to share, but it is not a requirement.
